NEW Tow Vehicle... 2016 Jeep Cherokee!

Now that I will be able to tow more than the 2,000 pound limit of my Wrangler two door...  Is there a guide or limit that I need to stay around or under with my 13 foot scamp?  I can now tow up to 4500 pounds...  but is there a reasonable weight for the Scamp itself?  I understand about 10% of the total weight should be on the tongue...  I can't find any references about weight limits for the Scamp itself.  As it sits now it is slightly under 2,000 pounds loaded and about 197 pounds on the tongue.

Thanks

Ralph & Peggy

Weight Limits

I don't recall seeing a figure that Scamp has released on this, but they do warn about overloading and wearing the axle here.   http://www.scamptrailers.com/ask-scamp/towing-your-trailer/before-you-go...

The axle used on Scamps is a 2000-2200 lb Dexter depending on the year, so that gives you your best guide. I personally wouldn't exceed about 1900 lbs loaded to leave some margin.

Thank you Greg...  I

Thank you Greg...  I appreciate your input.  For some reason, I had thought the weight for a 13 footer loaded ready for camping/traveling would have been higher.
