Hi All: The Scamping season is wrapping up shortly, and yet next week on the 11th, we will be in Backus to pick up our 16'. Even after watching the videos, reading all your postings, I still have a few questions I'm hoping to address with the folks there. In reflection, are there things or questions you wish they had gone over or covered when you were in our position? Purchasing this trailer has been already a learning experience and I have certainly appreciated the insight this community has imparted with John and I. When I had what may have seemed like a silly question, someone always stepped up to the plate and responded. Thank you.

Questions or Concerns you wish you knew about at delivery
First of all congrats, I'm sure you can't wait. I highly recommend staying close by for a night or two since you really don't have time to check out systems thoroughly at pick up. If you can get hookups and test all systems while close by if something is amiss you can head back over and get it taken care of. This also takes a lot of pressure off trying to look everything over in the short pick up window.
I'm sure folks will chime in with more suggestions, be safe on your journey.

Hi Greg, your suggestion is well received and on that note, lucky us. We only reside two hours south in Minneapolis and I suspect we will be doing plenty in the area come spring. Initially going a tad south of cities for a few days during MEA weekend, so we will get a good taste. I am so thankful for this board. That being said so far I learned there is something to said about knowing where all the fuses are located. Getting good instructions on lighting the water heater. Also, now I'm curious based on a recent posting as to exactly what is under that vinyl flooring. The time waiting for delivery has been a god send in disguise as we ve purchased most of the items (such as regulators, filters, etc) to ensure good functional/operation of the vehicle. Still Im sure there is something I will be lingering to know, so still looking to hearing from others. As always, THANK YOU. Barb and John
Guess I should have looked on your profile to see where you were at. Most folks seem to travel long distances for pickup but you have the ideal situation.
You sound very well prepared and I'm sure the Scamp will be a beaut! Pics Pics Pics.... Not sure what you are asking about the vinyl. Are you asking about whether they use an underlayment or about the sub-floor material?

The fuses aren't labeled... I wish I had asked for info on what each fuse is for.
I had a 12v outlet installed, and found down the road that it didn't work. Fortunately, it was easy to trace the wires. They went to the 6th fuse slot - and I had only 5 fuses installed. Easy fix, but it's another one of those things that would have been caught in QC - if Eveland had a QC.
The power converter in Scamps is very much that of what is in pop up trailers. We upgraded our power covert er after a park power ruined it. We also now use a device between the power pole and our power cord to manage power and protect our converter,

If you follow Doug's advice "We also now use a device between the power pole and our power cord to manage power and protect our converter" the Scamp converter will always be protected and never be ruined by park power.

You use a surge protector at the plug in point like this Camco Dogbone
You can also have one built into the trailer as we have but the portable above is quick and simple. I'd highly recommend it if you plug in at campgrounds a lot.

Yep, that's it. Camp power ruined our power converter in our Scamp, and now we never connect directly to such often dirty power.
