Wondering if when running the refrigerator 1.9 cu ft on 30 amp or 15 is the black pipe in the exterior compartment
supposed to get really hot? if so....why? If not, what is happening? Thanks.

It's supposed to get hot. An absorption type refrigerator uses a heat source to percolate the coolant up to the top of the system. It then must get rid of that heat along with the heat removed from inside. You will be able to detect heat at the bottom, where the percolating heat is being produced and further up, where it is being dispersed. You can safely operate your refrigerator from any household circuit - even a 50 foot cord out the kitchen window. It uses less than 130 watts. When operating parked, it must be level to prevent long term damage.
