GPS

Looking to buy a GPS for our travels with a 13' this summer. Prefer the 7" screen. Has anyone used a GPS for RVs?  The 13' Scamp is not a big RV but we will go to some RV parks and a lot of boon docking. The Garmin RV 760LMT has good reviews. Anyone have experience with the Garmin?

Garmin

I used a Garmin for awhile and it worked well, but the map update fees were ridiculous. I've used Google maps and Waze apps on the smart phone the last two years and been very pleased with no addl costs. The GPS in the smart phones work now regardless of phone or data service, so haven't run into any areas where it doesn't work.

Garmin

We have had a Garmin GPS for years and it has always worked very well, but like Greg says, the updates are totally out of control and we havent gotten them, you can buy a new one almost for what they want for the updates. I think maybe now that when you buy one, they come with lifetime updates but not sure about that

Garmin GPS

We have used a Garmin (nuvi 52LM) for about a year. It is a low end model that did come with free lifetime updates. We like using it although we find that you need to have an idea of where you are going. Our GPS is very wrong sometimes. Like telling us to turn right when we know our destination is to the left. Maps are still good! Happy travels

GPS -- Old School

We just bought a Map !!!

I like to have a "Bigger Picture" of where we are at/going.

PS: We chose the large format Delorme for our state (FL), it has the greatest detail compared to Rand Mcnally and the others.

As Always,

Happy Scamping !!!

GPS Old school

Launey will never ever turn loose of his map:-) He uses it constantly. The reason we even keep the gps sitting on the dash of the vechicle is because when I dont see a speed limit sign anywhere, the gps tell post what the speed limit is...As far as finding anything,I never use it for that, the one time I did ask it where somewhere was,it took me to a neigborhood I didnt want to be in {2am} maps never fail you ha
