I am considering a Scamp 13 foot trailer. (Yes, I know, I have been asking questions here for days. Here is another question.) My tow vehicle, a 2010 Subaru Forester manual transmission, has a 200 pound limit for the hitch weight. I know what the Scamp website says about the hitch weight of the 13 foot trailer, but we all know how realistic the manufacturer's dry weight is. What I want is some real world feedback on hitch weight.
If you have a 13 foot Scamp, and have weighed the tongue, as your trailer is normally loaded, please post what the hitch weight was.
If you have not weighed it, if you don't mind, carry a bathroom scale outside and put the tongue jack on it to get a weight and report that.
Thank you.
I had a 2004 with front bath with dual tanks TW 240 lbs. I had an Outback so I was shooting for 200 lbs. I removed one tank and the tank tray. My tongue weight was 205 lbs. dry. I did not pack anything heavy in the front closet. I also carried about half a tank of fresh water. I also used a couple of containers to pack stuff in and placed them on the lower floor next to the dinette step up. It towed great (flatland towing) and I got about 22 MPG.

Our 2015 Scamp 13 right out of the box, as we got it from the factory, no food no water no clothes no other stuff weighed 255 lbs on a bathroom scale under the tongue jack. The trailer does have dual propane tanks and the battery on the tongue. Our 13 is the standard model with front bunks (no bath) and no A/C. Hope this helps.
Were the dual propane tanks full when you weighed the tongue?

Yes, the propane tanks were filled.
We make sure out fresh water tank is full, 12 gallons, as we have 2 propane tanks and group 27 heavy battery on the tongue. We also may take bicycles at times on the rear hitch.

I have a 2012 Forester and a 13 front bunk model with single tank. It was less then 200lbs on the scale. I have had no problems towing.

This was just posted elsewhere. A dead empty Scamp 13' weighed after picking up in Backus. It might proved helpful to you.
I chose to take my brand new Scamp 13’ to the Certified Public Scale at Cadman in Redmond, WA. This scale reads in 20 lb. increments. My Scamp 13’ Std. Layout 2 w/front bath weighs 1500 lbs.; I also found I had 220 pounds on the tongue, as it was 1280 lb. when hitched to the TV. There were no added items in the trailer; it was 'as picked up from factory' condition.
In the real world, these things are almost always far heavier than what people assume. Few folks actually weigh them either, it seems to me.
My 1999 (or so-no VIN and previous owners had different recollections of exact age) had over 240 on the tongue. I moved stuff, mainly the port-a-pottty and some can good to the back and got weight down in the 150-175 range. Tows behind my 2000 model Wrangler very nicely now.
