At the Scamp Hatchery

I am here in Backus getting lots of mods and fixes to our Scamp! New awning, new step at bottom of the door, welded on bike hitch, 12 Volt plug, electrical fixes, TV antenna, and more!

Scamp Hatchery

What a wonderful experience it was to arrange maintenance and mods for our beloved Scamp. My experience there was 100% positive! Technicians there top notch. They informed me that they could easily install about anything on the Scamp after manufacture. I got our systems checked and repaired in minutes. Just 2 rivets were loose and they tightened them. Here is my list, new screen door, new Fiama awning, new bike receiver hitch, new fold out step under door. New TV antenna installed atop, and a new grab handle installed at the left side of the entrance door. Folks up there were extremely nice and welcoming. I got a thorough tour of the plant, from the molding of the eggs to the finished product. Takes about 4 weeks to build a Scamp, and they put about 8 per week out. Ordering now your delivery is late December. They have a neat little 13 footer Scamp atop a pole in front of the plant, up about 30 feet. My going away package was a bag of rivets, caps, and washers for rivet replacement, very easy I might add. As usual, all pictures are upside down! I hope we can get this fixed at some point, very annoying.

Scamp is now installing the Fiama F45S awning and it is amazing. Right now they are offering free installation too! We love it, finally.....Scamp offers a good awning!

Awning

Hi Doug !

We are happy smiley to hear that everything went well for you , is your awning a 12 ft crank out style ?  also just wondering if  they were able to use the original brackets or did they have to replace them ?

We are trying to make a decision on what type of awning to order hopefully within the next day or 2

Scamp Awning

Yes, we got the larger of the 2 sizes Fiama offers. Fit well on our 16, soft green color on both sides. Sunbrella material assures a long life. Cranks up very nicely and very tight, showing only the aluminum casing.
