Scam Alerts

We have many members who have expressed to us they are on the hunt for a 16' Scamp.

There is currently a 16' Scamp Scam ad that is flooding Craigslist from coast to coast.  We have posted this alert on Fiberglass-RV-4Sale, but we wanted to go the extra step to alert the members since we know so many of you are currently in the market for a 16'.

Great Idea!

I cannot count the number of times that I have seen these scam ads and Casita is another one that it seems there is a constant scam.  The worst one I saw, the photo was taken at night in a lighted parking lot, just the outside and it ran over several cities.  Usually if I see one, I run it on Oodle to see how many cities they are running it in and then report them all.  They tend to use the same photos after a break a lot of the time.  And, usually in the $2,000 to $3500 range for a unit that should be going for $13,500 instead.  I even read a post somewhere of someone who fell for the ad and money was gone for good.

It really pays to look at all the ads to get a feeling for the prices, conditions, etc. and realize the old "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't."  I have seen scams on Airstream and Trailmanor also.  They tend to choose the trailers that are in demand with a limited amount of used units available.

Really in the $2,000 to $3500 range, you are looking at a lot of work, not the "like new" that they are quoting.  : (
