This is my first year with my Scamp and therefore, my first winterizing. I am wondering if I need to jack up the trailer slightly to take the weight off the tires. I have heard conflicting stories about axles bending if it is done or damage to the rubber seals if not done. Any helpful ideas??

Youre right, everybody has an opinion. Here's mine: All things wear or degrade over time and your tires and axile are no different. By relieving the pressure on either one of them for the time it is in storage not being used, in theory should increase the life of it close to the same amount of time stored. I store mine 6 months out of a year so it should double its life. I jack the trailer up by the frame near where the axile is connected a few inches, not allowing the tire to come off the ground then let air out of the tires to about 20 to 30 pounds, the spare tire too. This allows all the rubber to relax, there is rubber inside your axile in case you are not aware of that. Next spring bring the tire pressure back up and let the trailer down and your ready to move it!
