What do I need adding a second propane tank and go to two batteries.

I recently bought a 13' 2013 Scamp with no bath. it only has one propane tank and the 24 battery, though it's new. I will be using propane for all cooking, inside or outside, plus I have a propane fire pit, with a long hose, that I'll probably use at night other on warm/hot summer nights. So it seems I can use the second tank and I'd like to go two using two 6V batteries. Anyone have ideas what I need to accommodate all this on the tongue? I'd like to have it all in some sort of box but not one that would give me issues of jack knifing into it with my TV. I guess a second shelf rack might be okay?

Tongue mod

I don't think you will fit it all in one box. I did the mod on a S-16. You will need a dual tank tray, dual tank covers, Dual switchable regulator, longer feed hose to regulator, two new tank hoses, associated brass adapter fittings, and a second tank. For the batteries I found an end to end dual six volt battery box (white Plastic). I made/ welded an angle iron battery rack that held the battery box behind the tanks. With todays prices expect to pay about $ 400-500 not counting the batteries. If you are worried about hitting the tanks you could go with a single 30# tank. Expect to add about 100 lb to your tongue weight. For external LP you can use a My Buddy extension hose and a tank Y adapter. A lot cheaper tan adding a line, port and valve.

Tongue mod

Thanks for your suggestions and info ELongest. I think a single 30# tank is what I'll go to. I have been thinking of going to the two six volt batteries. I just bought this 2013 13ft and the seller put in a new battery but it's only the 24, not a 27. I plan to do some boon docking, like a over night or maybe two here and there, so a better battery supply is a must. I presently have a smallish solar power station (700 watt) and three suitcase type, 120 watt each, solar panels. Because of I don't know much about installing electric such as what it would take to add lithium batteries, I have even thought of getting a larger power station, maybe a 2000 watt. Bluette's Max even has a rv 30 amp receptacle. Is that over kill for my little Scamp, and me not boon docking for lengthy times? Getting one of those reduces the added tongue weight of two heavy 6V batteries too. But if I did add the weight of the bigger tank and two 6V batteries, that would help in me adding the weight to the rear by using a cargo carrier and some items in it. I already have a 2" receiver from adding the cross member with one on that, so to add two new stabilizers. Any idea if my thoughts are correct on this subject? Thanks for any suggestions and input.
