Started the countertop project this weekend. Here is the Gianni Liquid Granite Countertop kit I ordered and it is available in several color schemes.
This would be a mod that would apply to deluxe model Scamps with formica countertops or other brands. If this comes out well for $79 it could be quite a find for an easy countertop update solution if you have formica.
First order of business was to remove all the surfaces and clean with steel wool then wash thoroughly.
Step 1 of the new coutertops is to apply the primer which goes right over the existing formica:
Step 2 is sponging on the mineral colors which I will do in the next few days and update the post.
I hope to have the countertops ready to reinstall this weekend, so stay tuned.
Completed the prep in the above post and applied the black primer base coat.
Today we added the mineral colors to the countertops which is a three part process.
Step 1:
Step 2:
Step 3:
Tomorrow we'll roll on two coats of Polyurethane and in about 3 days we can reinstall them in the trailer. We'll try and get some better photos up as these don't do it justice. It looks pretty good and has quite a bit of texture and granite look. Stay tuned!

You all seem real patient with doing things like this because even window film puts me on the edge or more appropriately, over the edge. I considered doing this in one of my kitchens but as my friend walked me through the steps that she had done to accomplish it, I decided what I already had wasn't so bad. We each have our "gifts" those abilities or just determination in certain things and these great projects are just not within mine. Looks so good and I can't wait to see everything back together again.

Sorry, got busy with all the gatherings and Christmas and never got finished photos up of the countertops. I'd rate this as one of the best projects we've done.
We also did the treatment to the two table tops that make the full bed and single bed, but they aren't visible at the moment.

Greg, It looks great! I've been waiting to see the counter finished. You've done a great gob! the black burners really complements the countertop.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your handy work. I'm kind of a handywoman so I can't waite to get my first used Scamp to work on it and make it my own.

It really does look good. It is just really something, the things that are available now, for doing such projects. I used some canned spray paint in the house on cabinet/draw pulls and electrical sockets/switches covers and it left a textured look so that cheap plastic and original 1927 cupboard pulls looked very classy.

Hi, I am new to the group and saw this post. You did a beautiful job, Greg! Looks like it was meant to be that color.

Thanks Debbie. I've done 3-4 trailer countertops and 1 Condo AirBnB property with this process and can't be happier with the results.
We're out on a 3 month trip and I'll try and add some pics of the latest one in the 19 Scamp.
