Scamp 19 Full size pickup

Bought a 2015 Scamp 19 deluxe  in perfect condition only 1500 odd miles on it.

I was excited as hell until I realized that the Scamp hitch system is anything but normal...

I had to get it home and I'll be damned if I was going to drill holes in my 2015 F250 fords truck with a lined box when it has the factory "puck" towing system already which was capable of towing almost 10 x the weight of this trailer.

So I had to get it home? and built this...

So I am now building a "Gooseneck" system for my truck which is too high at the box rails for the scamp factory setup...

My truck is an F250 with the built in "Puck" towing system hitch so  am fabricating an adjustable hitch that is easily modified or replaced with any hitch you want It can be unbolted and

This is the "universal" mount I built

Now I can bolt on the old hitch or any other type of Hitch that I want with just a bit of fabrication

Nice Execution

Love the concept and the work looks A+. My only concern with this setup is the pin weight on a 5th wheel should be directly over the rear axle of the truck or slightly forward. Given that this is a Scamp, not very long and much lighter than most, you may get away with it. However, it could lead to some squirrely towing characteristics.

We've had one or two do what you did in pic 1 to get it home, but the ones that have done that bumper pull setup had some towing issues.

When you can get it out on a long trip, post back on this thread how it's handling and whether you are getting any sway, etc. The Scamp 19's are rock solid towing when pin is over the axle and you don't even notice there is a trailer onboard.

Get us a pic of it hitched up so those that aren't familiar can see it attached to your truck.
