New to site- from Colorado

Hello Everyone

Joe here from Sterling, Colorado. Wife and I are starting the research stage for a scamp or casita. Hope to gain some knowledge here. Plan to purchase sometime after June 2015. For those in Colorado that have a scamp please contact me if your willing to show it as I like to look at one in person.

I have my teardrop ( Homebuilt) on the market

Get a Scamp!

There have been reports of lower ceilings in the Casita, as compared to the Scamp. Just depends on your height.

Your Search

Scamps are also generally a bit lower in price too, compared to Casitas. I took my Scamp to the RV center and the mechanics there were very impressed with the construction. Let me know what you choose.

Welcome

LOL, now I figure someone moving from a teardrop isn't too concrned with ceiling height.. cheeky I figured that bigjoey would have a "lil Joe", but you have a homebuilt. I'd love to see a couple of pics of ur teardrop, my boy loves those.

We love all types of molded fiberglass travel trailers here at SOI, heck, some of my good friends own Casitas but you'll probably get a lot of Scamp votes from the gang.

Scamp interior height.

The newer Scamps have a higher ceiling in the 13 & 16'.  The 17' Casita has the same height but the smaller ones are 5'11".

Check craigslist for used ones but be careful.  Scams.  Don't deal with anyone who wants to ship it to you.  Legit deals will be willing to show the unit usually.  Make sure you get a title.

From The Brochures

I have the brochures for Scamp and Casita.  For Casita, it states the an interior height of 5'10" for the 13 and 16 ft with the 17 ft having an interior height of 6'2".  For Scamp, 13, 16 and 5th all have 6'3" interior height.  Always remember that you have roof A/C it does drop the height in that area down a few inches, maybe 6", not sure.  I know if you branch out, the Eggcamper and Parkliner have more interior height and I think the Lil' Snoozy does too.  Always look at bed sizes because they often cheat in the RV industry when it comes to both length and width.
