Do I actually need a DC fuse box or AC breaker box?

Newbie here:

I'm planning on boondocking only, no shore power. Also, my 13' Scamp didn't come with any electronics, so I don't think I'll be buying any DC appliances just to replace the AC appliances I already have.

In that case, do I even need a DC fuse box or AC breaker box? Can't I just go BATTERY -> INVERTER -> EXTENSION CORDS -> APPLIANCES ?

maybe no box needed

But you DO NEED some kind of over current protection. Fuse, breaker, fusible link to prevent fire.

And

For safety you should be sure to have a main fuse at the battery that would protect the system. Ours has a 20 amp fuse in the black wire (+) that feeds the trailer it is right in the battery box.  This is for system protection and smaller things can be fused as needed at the device or its feed.

DC Fuse panel

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000THQ0CQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is what I put in the older Scamps that I don't install converters in. The good thing with this panel it provides ground lugs for your circuits. You can also feed the main buss through one fuse position and use it as a main fuse. You still need a fuse installed on battery connection.
