We just recently purchased our new to us 2005 Escape 17B and one of the first modifications I did was to bring over the Barker VIP Power Tongue Jack from my SOB (Some Other Brand). Once you have switched over to a power tongue jack it is very tough to go back to a crank type. I still have to route the power cable since our battery is on the rear bumper and I'll post some pics of the job soon.

Power Tongue Jack
Greg, I have to agree with you, once you have used the power jack you can never go back. I installed my first one on our Toy Hauler a few years ago then transferred it over to a new 35' TT we bought this past winter. We just bought a 89 Scamp 16 for weekend trips and it already had one on it. Even though the Scamp is light the power tongue jack is fabulous.
I'd love to have one but I've already got way too much on the tongue of my 13 Scamp.

LOL, with that gen box you have on the tongue you are a poster child for a Power Tongue Jack! If you make it to Quartzsite this year I'll let you push the button on mine and watch it go up and down while the kids are walking Lily.

We have the twin tank setup on our Lil Critter and found that it was REALLY a pain jacking up with the top handle jack. I removed the handle and pinned a socket to the shaft with the square 1/2' drive hole up. I got a 1/2" square drive attachment for my 18v drill motor and use it to power that blasted jack up and down. I ended up adding a 1/2" drive universal to the 1/2'" drive attachment because there was too much wobble without it. (due to my crooked hole drilling job on the socket)

That 18v drill idea is awesome!!! Wonder if it'll work on a fifth wheel? I'll have to check that out since I have a spare 18v drill out in the garage!

American ingenuity at work! I've seen the power drills used with stabilizer sockets to raise and lower the stabs, but I've not run across a self-modded power tongue jack as you have built. Can't wait to see this in action at the Sedona Christmas celebration.

I've contemplated modifiying the jack, but that's all....simply contemplated.
The tongue weight of my Scamp is mighty heavy with the box, generator, propane tank and Group 27 battery..oh and the anti-sway bar, surprising how much those weigh. I am not quite sure about adding the weight of a motorized jack.
Something good about doing it manually is that I sure can see a nice toning of my left bicept and whatever other muscles there are in my left arm, just need to remember to use my right one occasionally.

Next spring we are getting a power tongue jack and I am going to attempt to install it. Does not look too bad.
