Mattress

I have a 16ft #6 floorplan with the 44" rear dinette bed.  I am trying to order a custom mattress.  I called Scamp and to my dismay they do not offer the schematics for the bed.  They told me to use cardboard and make a template.  Poor.  Very poor.  Anywhoo, does anyone have a drawing of the matress dimensions?  I am trying to order an innerspring mattress and it is important that it fit perfectly.  Thank you!

Try Foam

Some company might be able to make a perfectly fitting inner spring mattress with two radial corners if you sent them a paper template of the exact size and shape. It probably wouldn't go through the the door of your trailer.

We're very happy with a piece of foam that we cut to fit. The entire bed can be rolled up and moved to use the table.

Bed

There is a custom mattress company, if I recall, that makes custom mattresses for Casita owners and already has the templates.

Not sure if they do Scamp mattresses, but worth a call.

I prefer the 6" or 8" latex or gel foam mattresses that can be bought anywhere and cut to perfection for the space with an electric carving knife.

mattress

I took the cushions off my Scamp bed, brought them in the house and laid them on the floor for an exact measurement. I purchased some really good foam to cover the cushions as padding (about 2" deep), laid it over the cushions, drew the template then cut the foam with a sharp kitchen knife. You won't have to store your cushions and the added foam gives not only comfort, but you won't even feel the seams between the cushions with it on.

The other option would be to order a 4-6" foam piece that you can also lay over the cushions and cut to fit, then store the Scamp cushions. Either way, the foam makes for a great bed! I purchased mine online at "The Foam Factory", and all products are "clean" and come with very long warranties.

 Hope this helps.

About that mattress...

All good comments. I too am thinking about trying to mussel an inner spring mattress through the door and then lay it down on the bed...sounds like a lot of work to me! I went to my local Joann Fabric and bought the 2" green high density foam for the same price as Foam Factory but no shipping. Also, that way I could feel how dense the stuff is and compare it to 4' and 1". Two 6 foot sheets at about $75 each but I took advantage of one of their 50% off sales that they run once or twice a year and got out for just $75 plus tax. Left one full size and laid the cushions out on the floor of my living room for a pattern to get the correct width of the second sheet plus the curves for the back wall. On top of (or under) the seat cushions these sleep really well and are easy enough to roll up and stash in the truck if I want to. Good luck...

Please excuse me...I need to go camping now
