Bumps in the road with restoration of 88 16 ft Scamp

As most of you know we are in the process of restoring an 88 16 ft scamp . ( Swamp Thing )  laugh

We are in the process of putting it back together after completely gutting it , unfortunately due to our damp climate all the appliances are beyond repair. We are running into difficulties finding the right hot water heater as well as parts for the sealand toilet . We are getting frustrated as we are being told that scamp does not carry items we need because of the age of our trailer .

Does anyone have any suggestions ?  We have had fairly good success so far with scamp parts and fiberglass trailer rv parts

untill we got into the plumbing hot water heater , toilet ect

Hot water heater measurements   are

16 1/4 W  12 3/4 H  16 D

Thanks

Steve and Sandy

Bumpy Restoration Process

If it weren't for "Bumps in the Road," the Restoration process wouldn't be as much Fun !!!

There are only a couple of suppliers for RV Appliances/Toilets, etc.

Try calling the Manufacturers directly to see if their technical staff can help. Have your model and serial numbers available if at all possible.

Regarding the toilet, you might have some luck contacting a Marine Supplier since the brand is SeaLand. Otherwise, you should be able to find a replacement toilet that will fit into the same space as your old one.

Good Luck, and...

Happy Scamping !!!

PS: If you do find sources, be sure to let Greg A. know so he can add them to the "Resources" section of the website.

As Always,

Happy Scamping !!!

Atwood Water Heater Parts

Here is the Atwood Water Heater Parts list.

If you look at the top of the tables you will find the various model numbers. Maybe, if you find your model number on the list the models in the same column will be direct replacements.

Of course this assumes your Water Heater is an Atwood.

Here is the PDF...

Let us know if this helps.

Definitely Atwood

The Atwood 6 gallon water heaters were mostly 16x12.5 so that is who you want to make contact with for parts-questions. 800.546.8759 If you can have your model # and Ser # when you call it will help.

Sealand Toilets

Awesome! Glad to hear the Atwood Water Heater info solved one item.

Go to: Sealand Parts for toilet parts and you may need to call them for the older model information. 800 321 9886

711/911 Sealand (Dometic)parts

Older trailers may have a 911 toilet. Most Scamps have the 711-M28 toilet. There should be a label on the base to identify what model you have. The marine 711 models do not have a 3" bottom discharge. If you have to order a RV type 711 toilet, the tank and bowl only come in bone color and they have to be ordered seperately.
