I'd like to add a new circuit to the existing distribution panel on our Scamp to put a 12V socket in the pantry wall. Can anyone give me advice on where to attach the positive and negative wires on the back of the distribution panel? The theory I'm operating with so far is attach pos wire to "A:unused fuse connection" and negative to "B:DC ground?" in the attached picture. Thx for any help.
If you don't have a multimeter you need to pick one up and keep it handy. Set it for dc volts and measure across your unused terminals. If you have 12v dc on the meter then wire it up.

Greg: tried the meter and got 12V across points A in the picture (unused fuse screw) and B (what I'm assuming is the DC ground wire). Do you know if the ground wire (B) is DC ground alone or does it have some connection to the AC system as well. Thx for information.
The ground wire is for the 12v System Only.
The 120v system is (or should be) always enclosed, either inside a junction box or encased inside of the wire.
This is done to prevent electrocution in case of a short. If there is a short, the ground wire will carry 120 volts and any bare wires could be touched and/or arc to cause a fire.
