I'm in the process of researching potential camping trailers. I need something light to pull behind a car or small SUV and I want to store it in my garage. My door opening has a solid clearance of 83" at the top. It's a 2 car, so width is fine. Has anyone tried to cut a makeshift wheel out of wood for a 13' scamp to attach in place of the regular wheel so it can be slowly rolled into the garage? Once inside, I have the clearance to lift the trailer back up enough to store on jack stands. I know it sounds a little crazy, but if there is a enough ground clearance, I'm thinking it could work.

My garage door opening is 83" Height and 2015 13' Scamp... I drop the air pressure in the tires down to 20 to 10 lbs and had my friend and a bag of cement on the very back of my camper, added water to all tanks (grey/black/fresh). After getting inside the garage, I put the air pressure back up to recommend pressure and removed my friend and cement. Worked great! (I didn't have an A/C on top)
Thanks Scott! Do you know how much the A/C adds? The dimensions listed on the manufacturer website doesn't clarify if it is with the roof mount A/C, but the A/C appears to be standard.

Mine is over 13" high.
We have a '74 13' Scamp. These older trailers are not as high as the newer ones, and the older vent has less height than do the newer vents. This trailer does fit (barely) under the 84" garage door of our house. However, the garage opening at our apartment is only 83", and it will not fit under that door...even with the tires deflated.

Someone on this site DID make smaller wheels using plywood. I have considered buying smaller wheel/tires to mount for moving the SCAMP into and out of my 83" garage. I have seen at Menards (in Elkhart, IN) wheels (with mounted tires) I thought would work, for ca $35 each. (One would have to make sure the lug pattern was correct!)
