Light Bulbs

Hi,

I ordered great LED bulbs to replace the bulbs in the spots but the smaller dome lights have a weird plastic base configuration. Does anyone know what that bulb number is?

Thanks!

My dome lights are push in

My dome lights are push in bulbs similar to a Christmas tree bulb.  They push and pull out of the plastic connector and have two wire loops on the base.  We need a picture of your bulb in the dome light to properly tell.

LED bulbs

I’m not sure what type of fixture you have in your 2012 5er.  My 2007 has SC bayonet type bulbs similar to the picture illustrated.  All I had to do was pull the old bulb out and replace it with similar base LED bulb.  All the bulbs in mine were the same type.  I know the 2008 5ers also use the same bulbs as mine.   It’s possible the factory changed dome light fixtures after 2008.  Perhaps the previous owner changed the fixtures.  If you pull the bulb out, you can find it at most any RV LED light supplier. I found what I use at: <RVLedBulbs.com> - A division of Hitching Post - DrawTite.                    Is your base like this?

Cool LED Light Bars

I added LED Strip lights to my Van on each door and over each seat as map lights, as well as in the rear passenger area.

I bought a roll of LED lights (5 meters/ 16 ft) from Amazon, these come on a roll and have a 3M sticky back, they can be cut to any length ( every 2" ).

I went to Home Depot and purchased some 1/2" Oak "hobby" boards (these are pre cut to 3' or 4' lengths).

I cut the boards into 3/4" strips (24" long) and routed a channel for the lights to be recessed into. I then drilled slanted holes on each end so I could fish the power wires in from the back side.

These lights are GREAT !!!

They look Great and they really light up the Van steps at night !!!!

These same Lights could be used to make Custom Lights for your Camper and/or Truck Bed (under the rails to light up the whole truckbed ).

See the attached Pics.

Light bulbs

That certainly is NOT like the bulbs in my 2007 5er.  Somewhere along the line there has been a change.

That is the same bulb as mine

That should be a 194 wedge base.  Autolumination give the dimensions and the specs, then you have to decide color, #of LED's, etc.  I have bought from them before, but have had a bit of a problem with them standing behind their product. LED Bulbs-Amazon is probably a better source once you know what you want or I have bought at LED Wholesalers with no issues so far.

194 Wedge base are fairly

194 Wedge base are fairly common now on RV dome lights.  I had those in my SOB and when we bought the Escape it used the same 194 Wedge bulb in the domes.  Appears Scamp made a change at least on the 5th wheel from a bayonet base to the wedge.  Maybe some of the other Scamp owners with different models will chime in on what is in their Scamp and what year it is.

I can't remember what was in my 1981 Scamp 13, but I do remember it wasn't a 194 Wedge.

Greg your 1981 most likely

Greg your 1981 most likely had bayonet as that's what Scamp used until they started added small dome lights a few years ago to give better lighting generally over the table/dinette area.  They are probably items like so many others that aren't listed on their brochures so not all Scamp come with those lights.  Most of small dome lights use the push-in bulb as Perry showed.

All the lights in my 2001 Scamp have bayonet bulbs but they are larger light fixtures than dome lights.

Light Bulbs

My 2003 16 calls for 1141 lamps for the interior fixtures ( label inside the fixture). I have ordered LEDs to replace all the lamps. The outside fixture had a 1156 lamp that partially melted the lens. Ordered a replacement lens and a waterproof LED replacement for the 1156 lamp.
