12 Step Program

Well I may need a 12 Step program for a molded fiberglass trailer addiction. laugh I'll be picking up the 3rd egg in our hatchery on Tuesday; a 1997 Scamp 5th Wheel. Never had a Scamp 5th Wheel so I should have plenty of good projects and questions to post as I clean it up. It is a solid trailer with good bones, and just needs a cosmetic update and cleanup. Great fun!!

My Bet Is

Well, my bet is with a 12 Step Program that Greg has to admit that he has a problem.  I'm guessing that he probably has a list of reasons why he had to have this 3rd unit and would insist that he really could have controlled the urge to purchase it he wanted to and that he can stop just cold turkey and not add another.  Ah, time will tell how serious his addiction may be and whether an intervention will be necessary.  : )

It would be hard for me to have to search and list trailers as I would be thinking that I really should buy this one and that one and.................

12 Step program

Greg:

Congrats on the 5'er!!  I bought a combo 2002 5'er and Ford Ranger last fall and have found that the 3.0L Ford Ranger just isn't enough to pull it, at least here in Colorado where we live.  Well, I should say, it's always made it up the hill, but it sure ain't pretty!!!  So, I'm retiring the Ranger as a tow vehicle and I'm putting a hitch in my '99 Dodge Ram this week.  It has a 5.9L engine, so I think it'll have sufficient horsepower!!  The guy at the hitch shop looked at everything and initially thought he would need to raise the axle (I guess it's actually place a spacer between the axle and camper frame), but after thinking about it more, he thinks it won't need the spacer now.  He is going to extend the camper hitch and put in an adjustable link just in case my '99 Dodge gives up the ghost some day.

What are you pulling your 5'er with, and did/are you having to make any modifications to tow it?

Congrats!
