I have a 13 foot Scamp and use it during the summer for camping. I tow with a 2014 Subaru Forester. I bought new Michelin Defender tires (MFG90) January 2016. Right now I've put 21,000 miles on the car--so I drive about 10,000 miles a year, with most of the miles from the summer. Two Subaru dealers have noted the wear on my tires--just letting me know to keep an eye on them and replace this next summer. Any thoughts about this amount of wear on new tires? Is this to be expected from pulling the Scamp?
Thanks!!
I don't think it is from towing the Scamp! I have a 2015 Forester and my tire dealer told me there was something odd about the way my rear tires were wearing and to keep an eye on them. I had to delay driving out to Backus this past July to pick up our 13 footer and have the front end alignment checked, which was fine and have the rear wheels balanced! They were far out of balance. I replaced all the tires when I returned home. A friend's daughter has a 2016 Forester and her tire dealer told her there was something odd about the way her tires were wearing. I would have the alignment and balance checked and not be too concerned that it is your Scamp!
