Anyone tow a 16' Scamp with a Honda Pilot?

I've got to buy a new (or used) car to tow my yet to be built 16 footer. Does anyone use a Pilot to tow their Scamp? If so do you have the 4WD with the ATF cooling package (suppose to increase towing capacity from 3500 to 5000. And does your Scamp have a bathroom (I know that increases the weight)? How does the Pilot do on hills? Any info  you can give me would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Sue

Towing with a Pilot

We have the 4wd 2015 Pilot (don't know if it has the ATF), and you won't even know the Scamp is back there.  We have the 6 cyl.  Don't know if they make a 4 cyl, but I wouldn't want to tow with one.

Towing with a Pilot

JFreed,

Does your Pilot have a seven pin connector with all 7 pins activated (especially blue wire for brakes and black for charging Scamp battery)?, Do you have a brake controller? If so, does Honda supply a trailer brake connector or is that an after market item?

Tow a 13' or 16'?

I haven't towed a Scamp with

I haven't towed a Scamp with a Pilot but I towed a popup camper that was heavier than the typical weights of a Scamp 16 - never knew it was back there.  the Pilot came with the tow package, and I installed my own brake controller (wiring harness is just a plug-in under the dash, very easy)
