Grey and Black Water Tanks

Greetings!  We are downsizing to the 16' standard Scamp from a 25' Cougar trailer and I have been rather spoiled with our current dump system.  I am new to this forum and didn't see anything about this on the Scamp website or when I did a search:  I assume the grey water is dumped through a hose system/  Is there any way to set up the same thing with the black water / toilet waste?  I don't relish the thought of having to take the waste and find some latrine to dump it in :-(

Scamp Toilet

The factory scamp toilet uses the hose dump system just as any other trailer. Scamp does not have a single point discharge point. With a Scamp you dump the black water first, disconnect the hose and connect and dump the greywater, no big deal. It sounds like you are talking about a porta potty or a cassette toilet like found in Lil Snoozy's and some pop up campers.

Thanks, Eddie!  I am totally OK with having to disconnect and then reconnect - it was having to use a porta potty that was the problem.... bi relief!

Grey Water / Black Water Discharge Points

Hi, I have a 16 Scamp and I have been wondering how to hook up to a full-hookup camp site with the two discharge points? My bathroom has been a closet for the past year, but recently I've been thinking of using the toilet. I'm wondering if I could design and make a Y shaped hose that connects to each discharge point and then connects to a single hose to the sewer connector. Or maybe someone has a solution already. I really don't want a daily task of moving the hose from one discharge point to the other.

Sewer Y

Here ya go. Sewer hose Y  you'll also need three sewer hoses and a sewer connector. Many parks require a sewer hose support   Some of this you should already have.

Just to clarify, you mention moving the hose daily. When you are hooked up to full time sewer the tank valves should remain closed and you only open them and dump when the tanks are near capacity, probably on a Scamp about every four or five days. Black first, then close and grey same as when dumping at a dump station. This allows everything to get flushed through the hose and into the sewer. If you dump too often with not much in the tanks it will remain in the hose and not get down the sewer. surprise

Just to clarify a bit. Some

Just to clarify a bit. Some Scamps do come with a SaniPotty that needs to be taken out and dumped. These are the Scamps without an actual bathroom. If the Scamp model you are considering has a Bathroom, it includes a shower and toilet with a hose dump, as Eddie says.

Dumping both without moving the Scamp

When I pull up to a dump station, I try to drive as close as possible to the curb (if it has one) and stop with the wheel next to the dump drain. That way I can reach both discharge points and the gate valves with the standard slinky, even when keeping one foot on the hose so it does not pull itself out of the drain. It's a little bit of stretching exercise, though.

Nature's Head composting toilet

Has anyone tried to mount a Nature's Head composting toilet in a Scamp 16 front toilet/bath?

Nature's Head composting toilet

There was a person with a 13' Scamp attending the Quartzsite Az gathering that had a composting toilet, and stated that he only empties after he gets back home from his 4 month long winter escape.  His tow vehicle was a late model 1930's or 40's Ford that looked stock but one that he and his brother installed a small diesel motor in.  I hope this jogs someone's memory and they will chime in with other info.

Internal dimensions front bath Scamp 16

I am trying to decide on whether to use a composting toilet in Scamp 16 instead of stock toilet, but I need to know the internal dimensions.  If anyone can provide dimensions, especially of area of toilet, I would be very appreciative.  Thanks
