I just completed waxing the exterior of the trailer today. First time using Meguiar's Flagship Premium Marine Wax - 32 oz.
Fantastic product, went on easily came off just as easily and the Egg is Sparkling!

Hi Greg,
I decided to swing over to SOI and see you! I'm excited about this Flagship wax, and I think I may have come across it before from general searches. When I looked it up after reading your post here, it says it removed light oxidation. I don't know the age of your Escape, but I wondered if you felt it was a product that could be used on both new(er) and older trailers? I don't think I have much oxidation on my 2012 yet, unless it's "always there" and one just can't see it until it slowly develops over time to create that chalky look we all want to avoid or get rid of?
Would be much obliged to hear from you again! BTW...I e-mailed Shademaker to get their perspective on what they would suggest for a bag awning install. I would rather use rivets, as you know I have nowhere to hide SS screws/nylox nuts. Several have used just rivets with success, while others say they just would n't hold up (tensile strength-wise) to the job. The awning is lightweight, as you know...

Hi Wendy and welcome to the clubhouse!
The Meguiars Flagship wax really seems to be an awesome product so far. Since your Scamp is a 2012 you won't have any heavy chalking yet so maintaining it with a procuct like this every 12-18 months will prevent it from chalking out and keep the shell like new. If the molded fiberglass trailers are maintained they can stay looking like new for many decades. Even the older chalked shells can be brought back to life in some cases.
I'm sure the rivets would hold up fine due to the volume and spacing of the rivets. You could put an SS anchor in the closet area that wouldn't show at a minimum. Some have used the 3m aircraft tape with success for mounting the ball joint caps as well.

Just received our 2016 New 13' Scamp. When should I apply it's first coat of wax? Immediately? After a year?

Why wait? The fiberglass is fully cured. I waxed mine within 7 days of getting home with it. Of course you need the proper weather, and /or a shelter. I used Meguiar's M6332 Flagship Premium Marine Wax - 32 oz.
and so far am very happy with it.
It was you Greg that turned me on to Meguiars Premium Marine Wax. Our 2008 had not seen wax since new. It looks fantastic and as you said, the second or third application brings back the white. 3rd application goes on very soon, and a buffer for the same polish the factory uses will be put on as well. It's a labor of love for sure as we so love our Scamp! It soon will look new again!
