traveling without the front shield

I find it easier traveling without the front shield. Taking down the curtains allows me to see traffic behind me (seeing right thru the trailer). I know it's supposed to be a rock shield but come on what are the chances (really) of a rock hitting the glass?  thoughts?

traveling without the front shield

It is not made the same as your car windshield which would deflect or possibly chip if hit by a stone. A stone hitting the trailer window would likely be catastrophic being it has a wind force being applied to it.

Your going camping to have fun, imagine how your adventure would be with the window blown out. Every oncoming truck would be a worry.

But it's your choice, you can do what you want. With the window out you will be able to see through behind you better. LOL

No front window shield

Our 2005 "Lil Critter" was born without a window shield.  She has rolled over 280,000 miles thru USA and Canada mostly secondary roads, including north of the Arctic Circle and on the Apache Trail on the AZ Supersition Mts,, with no window damage other than LOTS of killed bugs.  ;>)
