New Plank Flooring

Well, we have relented. We finally have come to realize that carpet just wasn't working for our flooring in our Scamp. In just days I will have a friend who specializes in such help me and we shall be putting in our Plank Flooring. I shall post a picture when it is done.

Just a quick question Doug,

Just a quick question Doug, Do folks ever do the flooring without removing the benches? I know the ideal way would be to remove benches and other obstacles and place the flooring throughout, or at least under the benches. My bench will be difficult to remove, due to the non-standard location of my water tank (can't get to the screws). Can an attractive job be done just placing the new flooring up to the benches/cabinets? Perhaps this should be a new thread, but I'm wondering how you will do it - will be watching for explanation and photos of how your project goes. smiley

We have the side dinette

We have the side dinette configuration with the upper floor hanging over the main floor. No benches shall be removed, that would be a huge job left to the factory folks! No, this will be an easy job, and maybe some quarter round where needed. I shall post pics when done, now just in 2 days!

Allure Plank Flooring

Got it all done! Getting the old carpeting out was tough, but we managed. This is the plank flooring from Allure and love it. We really like the look. I used the foam padding underneath as well.

Nice!

This looks great, Doug.

Do you know how much weight it added to your Scamp?

Thank you! Yea, I am so

Thank you! Yea, I am so excited to,have this project done, and to have it come out so nice, I resisted for,so long, thinking carpet was the way to go. We kept walking in stones and twigs all the time, only to feel them under our bare feet! Now just a quick a quick sweep and it's clean! Yes, we so love the look.

LOL! Yes, we came to our

LOL! Yes, we came to our senses and realized that carpet was just too messy and truly not right for outdoor activities. With the fall rally coming up in October in Land Between the Lakes, we shall have a wonderful Sdamp to show off. When Dawn retires in about 3 years, we are westbound and hope,to finally meet you friend!

Looks good Doug. This is on

Looks good Doug. This is on my list of improvements to make, but probably not this year.

Glad to know that pulling the benches isn't an absolute necessity.
